I created this recipe for the Budweiser Sauces Ultimate Blogger Recipe Challenge; however, the opinions are mine alone.
These Steakhouse Burgers with Homemade Fry Sauce are juicy, hearty burgers made with zesty Steak & Burger Sauce and onion soup mix, grilled to perfection, then topped with sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, fry sauce, and crispy onion rings.
What’s better than a juicy, grilled burger in the dead of summer? How about delicious burgers seasoned with steak sauce and onion soup mix, grilled to perfection, and topped with sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, crispy onion rings, and fry sauce? I call ’em Steakhouse Burgers with Homemade Fry Sauce. See, I took the Budweiser Blogger Challenge and got a taste of their incredible line of sauces.
We’re talking Budweiser Brewmaster’s BBQ sauces in five different flavors: Classic, Honey, Sweet & Spicy, Bold & Spicy, and Sweet & Smoky. So no matter what you do, there’s bound to be a BBQ sauce that strikes your fancy. I used the Sweet & Spicy flavor for my homemade BBQ sauce because sweet + spicy is one of my favorite flavor combos.
They’ve also introduced Budweiser Brewmaster’s Premium Wing Sauces in mild and hot, Sizzlin’ Steakhouse and Buffalo Chicken Marinades, and their Steak & Burger Sauce. Plus, for a limited time, Budweiser has introduced a new kind of lager—the Freedom Reserve Red Lager. It’s great as a marinade for your meats or just a refreshing cold brew to help you beat the summer heat.
I used the Steak & Burger sauce in these Steakhouse Burgers and got AMAZING results. Like, I could go for another of these burgers right now.
Ready to find out how to make these juicy, hearty, incredible Steakhouse Burgers with Homemade Fry Sauce? Let me show you.
First, combine your ground beef, onion soup mix, and Budweiser Steak & Burger Sauce in a bowl.
Once they’re good and mixed, shape the mixture into three to four patties that are one inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indentation in the center of each patty, but DON’T press them down too much. Place them on a cookie sheet and let them rest. Then preheat your grill to high. You’ll want it to reach about 400 degrees Fahrenheit before cooking your burgers.
While that’s heating, make your onion rings according to package directions. It’s also a good time to sauté your mushrooms. To do that, place a medium skillet over medium heat. Add your olive oil and butter and combine. Once the butter is melted, add your mushrooms. Sauté them in the butter/oil mixture until they’re lightly browned. Then, reduce the heat to low and simmer the mushrooms until they’re tender. Remove them from the heat and set them aside.
Then it’s a good time to make your fry sauce. To do that, combine equal parts of mayonnaise (I used olive oil mayo) and the Budweiser Brewmaster’s BBQ Sauce flavor of your choice.
Stir them together and make sure the flavor is to your liking. You can always add a little more BBQ sauce if you want some more zing, but I’ve found half mayo and half BBQ sauce works great.
Once your grill is ready, put your burgers on. Grill them, uncovered, on each side for about 4 minutes. Flip them and grill them for an additional 4 minutes. Then, add your Swiss cheese slices to each burger. Close the lid and continue grilling the burgers until the cheese is nice and melty. Take the burgers off the grill. Top them with the sautéed mushrooms and onion rings, then spread the fry sauce on the top half of the bun.
And then prepare your mouth for the juiciest, most flavorful burger it’s ever had! Just check this baby out. Melty cheese, crispy onion rings, hearty mushrooms, and delicious homemade fry sauce. What more could you want?!
