I can’t believe it’s Monday again! Does the time fly like crazy for anyone else? I think it’s one of nature’s cruel rules—the older you get, the faster time passes.
One of my favorite Savor 180 activities from last week was #19, to dance like no one’s watching for a whole 10 minutes. The funny thing is that right before, I did a 30-minute cardio workout and I was more out of breath after dancing for those 10 minutes. I had to go down to the basement because I really didn’t want anyone to watch me dance. What can I say? I’m just not that coordinated. But it was such a fun way to burn some calories, I’ve decided I’m going to do it more often. It’ll be my very own Zumba class. 🙂 FYI, “Yeah” by Usher is a GREAT song to dance to if you haven’t already noticed (thanks, Pandora!).
Tip #21, to relax in a bubble bath, was hard because we had just put the girls down and they were calling for me. But I stayed put. It was “me” time and I was not going to allow myself to be interrupted. 😉 Sometimes that’s what it takes. You carve out time for you and you stick to it!
And finally, I should have followed tip #22 to the letter. But I am sad to say I didn’t. We went to California Pizza Kitchen so I could indulge in my favorite treat, their heavenly butter cake. But I remembered how I’m right smack in the middle of a weight loss challenge and I just couldn’t bring myself to use up my daily calories for a dessert. So I went for the Belgian Chocolate Souffle Cake instead. While it was pretty good, it was no match for my tried-and-true favorite. I mean, the butter cake is WHY I go to CPK. So next time I’m going big, my friends. Life’s too short to waste your calories on mediocre desserts. That’s my new mantra.
I hope you all had a pleasant week! Remember to make every day count and to savor each and every moment.
