One of my favorite summer activities is having family cookouts at my parents’ house. They have a nice, big pool and it’s so fun to play in the pool with the kids and enjoy some great grilled grub.
But if you’ve ever started planning a cookout and thought how fun it would be to grill EVERYTHING from appetizer to dinner to dessert, 1. we need to be besties and 2. you MUST try these Grilled Loaded Chocolate Chip Cookies. I mean, imagine sitting and chatting with friends and family after enjoying a delicious BBQ dinner and saying, “Now I’m gonna throw the cookies on the grill.” Say what?! Yep, it’s possible. And you must try it. Like yesterday. These Grilled Loaded Chocolate Chip Cookies are AMAZING, loaded with chocolate chips, caramel bits, and pretzels. Yesssss. They’re the perfect way to enjoy the summer weather and celebrate togetherness. Especially when paired with ice cream.
But not just any ice cream. I’m talking about the new DREYER’S Ice Cream flavors, inspired by some of my favorite candy bars, like Nestlé Butterfinger® Peanut Butter Cups and BabyRuth®. I love that the ice cream is made with fresh milk and cream with no rBST (milk production hormone) and no artificial colors or flavors—so I can feel better about indulging.
Ice cream loaded with my favorite candy bars meets these loaded chocolate chip cookies, my friends. There’s a term for it. It’s called dessert nirvana. Best part? I found the ingredients for the cookies, as well as the DREYER’S Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream and DREYER’S BabyRuth Ice Cream, at my local Walmart. I found the ice creams in the frozen section.
And these Grilled Loaded Chocolate Chip Cookies are surprisingly easy to make. Here’s how! First, gather all the ingredients you’ll need to make your summer BBQ dessert fun and fabulous.
Sift your dry ingredients together and mix your sugars and butter. Add your egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Then, add your dry ingredients to the sugar mixture. Then throw in all your goodies.
Yeeeeaaahhh baby! Stir those in the batter until they’re mixed well, like this.
Then, refrigerate the batter for at least an hour (trust me, you’ll be glad you did). After that, fire up just half of your grill. Let the temperature get to 350 degrees (I used an oven thermometer) and put a pie pan upside-down on the rack.
Then, roll the dough into balls and place onto a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. Place the sheet on top of the pie pan, close the grill lid, and grill for 10 minutes.
DON’T be tempted to overcook the cookies. They will be done right around 10 minutes, even if they don’t look completely done at the top. Ahhhh golden, chewy deliciousness.
With DREYER’S Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream and DREYER’S BabyRuth Ice Cream, it’s truly a match made in heaven.
