Guys, I can’t even tell you how excited I am about this recipe. But I’m sure as heck gonna try. Every day, I stress about how little time I have for myself and my family with my uber long commute to and from work. And when I get home, I’m exhausted. To the point that I’d rather just order pizza and call it a night. Except pizza every night would be catastrophic health-wise and would get old real fast.
So I’m always on the lookout for weeknight recipes that I can make in 30 minutes so I can have time to relax, play with my kids, and maybe even soak in a bubble bath. So imagine my delight/amazement/excitement when I discovered I could make a delicious, hearty, steaming-hot, one-pot meal for the family in 10 MINUTES. Yep, you read that right. 10 minutes and done, my friends. Any faster and I’d be serving cereal for dinner.
Without further ado, let me introduce my newest food obsession: 10-Minute Cajun Chicken Alfredo. It’s chock full of fresh veggies and basil, all in a rich, garlicky, and slightly spicy Cajun Alfredo sauce. But all that deliciousness is just a drop in the bucket. Because the real recipe stars are the two ingredients that make the whole 10-minute meal possible: Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken Strips and Barilla Pronto Pasta. They’re some of the greatest food inventions ever and a kitchen staple for making easy weeknight meals. I found them, along with all the other kitchen essentials on my list, at my neighborhood Walmart.
I’ve used Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken Strips a number of times when I want to whip up a yummy dinner in no time. The best part is that the chicken strips are pre-cooked, 98% fat free, and have no preservatives. They’re the perfect addition to a simple, healthy homemade meal. I’ve used them in salads, tacos, pastas, soups, and stir-fries. I simply heat them in the microwave and toss them in whatever I need.
Barilla Pronto pasta is a new innovation and this was my first time using it. As I cooked the pasta, I kept wondering, “Where have you been all my life?” You cook the pasta in 10 minutes flat—no boiling or draining required! If you think you’re dreaming, lemmie just give you a little cyber pinch cuz it’s for real. Here’s how you make 10-Minute Cajun Chicken Alfredo.
Start with your ingredients, which are a cinch to throw together.
Start by pouring your pasta into a 12-inch pan.
Add 3 cups cold water and put it on the stove over high heat.
Set your timer to 10 minutes.
Then place your chicken strips on a microwave-safe plate and cook in the microwave for 3 minutes.
At 3 minutes left on your timer, stir the broccoli and mushrooms into your pasta.
Then, with 2 minutes left, stir in your butter, cream cheese, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning until fully incorporated and smooth.
and the Parmesan. Stir in the fresh basil and you’re done!
